The Web Services SIG Becomes The SOA Special Interest Group (SOASIG)! As of summer 2007 the Web Services SIG has changed it's name to the SOA SIG and broadened it's focus to include not only Web Services but also other components of the larger Service Oriented Architecture field. Founded in 2005, the Web Services SIG represents the interest of Oracle Applications users worldwide who are interested in taking advantage of the potential of Web Services. Our goal is to provide a forum for the sharing of information and experiences on best practices and effective use of Web Services with Oracle Applications. Also, to provide feedback from the user community to Oracle Corporation as well as to be a conduit for recommended enhancements and influence the future development direction of Web Services in Oracle Applications. Our mission is to promote the optimum benefit-in-use of Web Services by supporting education and training programs, events associated with its use; and through conferences, publications, and electronic meeting places dedicated to Oracle Web Services.
